It is the policy and intention
of JCEMHS to encourage and support integrated emergency planning
throughout Johnson County and with all of its partners. To this end,
JCEMHS provides a variety of information, guidance, and support to its
stakeholders. The following information provides basic emergency
planning guidance information for city and county government entities
in Johnson County. Please contact JCEMHS at
emm-planning@jocogov.org
for additional information and/or assistance.
City Emergency
Operations Plans
JCEMHS
encourages all cities to develop and maintain emergency operations
plans (EOPs) for their jurisdiction and is available to provide assistance to
cities in the development and maintenance of their plan. As city
EOPs are required to be consistent with the
concepts and systems identified in the Johnson County Emergency
Operations Plan (CEOP), JCEMHS is required to review city EOPs to
ensure alignment and will do so upon request of any city. It is
recommended that cities contact JCEMHS before they create new EOPs
or begin significant updates to them for the latest planning
guidance, information, and support.
JCEMHS has
created an Emergency Planning
Reference page to assist cities in the development of their plans.
JCEMHS recommends that cities use DHS FEMA's
Comprehensive
Preparedness Guide 101 as the core guidance document in developing
their emergency operations plans.
