Emergency Planning for Adult Care & Home Health

Adult care facilities and home health care providers need to be proactive before a disaster and should have emergency and disaster preparedness policies and procedures in place.

Johnson County Emergency Management and Homeland Security (JCEMHS) has compiled resources on this site to assist adult care providers in developing and/or updating their emergency plans and procedures.  Facilities and home health care providers are encouraged to contact Johnson County Emergency Management if they have any questions regarding the emergency response system in Johnson County.

While adult care facilities are responsible for developing their emergency plans and procedures, per the Johnson County Emergency Operations Plan, Johnson County Med-Act is responsible for coordinating medical emergencies in Johnson County when needed.  In preparation for emergencies and/or disasters, Johnson County Med-Act meets with adult care facilities on a regular basis to exchange updated contact information and perform/update facility assessments.
