Interim Director Develops, coordinates, and maintains the county's emergency operations plan, hazard analyses, multi-year development plans and mitigation plan. Is responsible for coordination of mitigation activities in the county. Nick also supervises the Homeland Security planning activities of the department. Continuity of Government Program - Uncontrollable or unforeseen events can cause an interruption of critical government functions that can cost our county dearly. Johnson County Government delivers many essential services and must be proactive in its planning for any calamity that may occur. In order to do this, Johnson County Emergency Management will be working with county departments to develop business continuity plans to prevent any interruptions in services to its citizens. Nick is currently involved in many leadership positions at the local, state and federal level of emergency management including:

Director for Training & Public Education (open) Responsible for the development, coordination, and administering an all hazard awareness and training program to keep county residents apprised of the procedures and actions to be implemented in a disaster emergency.

The Emergency Prepared Neighborhood Program is designed as a
public outreach initiative to increase citizen, family, neighborhood, and
community basic preparedness actions that will raise their chances of survival
and enhance their ability to cope with a disaster. |
